Part Nine - 79 Squadron Colours and Markings

Introduction
Being based several thousand miles away, the chances to see and photograph the Hawks of 79 Squadron have been virtually non existant for those of us here on Australia's east coast.

However, in the past few months I have been lucky enough to see three of their jets over here at williamtown (one of which was the Anniversary bird, see http://motty.hobbyvista.com/Articles/hawkdm_21-01.html  for a detailed coverage of this scheme), so I have taken these opportunites to document their colours and markings as best I can and share them with you here.

I would like to express my deepest gratitude to the members of 76 and 79 Squadrons, Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) and BAE SYSTEMS  for giving me the permission and opportunity  to be able to share this information with you all.
 

Points to note for modellers
Note that 79 Sqn repeats the aircraft's "last two" from the serial number on the tip of the nose whereas 76 Sqn has them on the nose gear doors.
